The overall objective of the project is to enhance the ecological integrity, connectivity and management effectiveness of protected area landscapes in the Pachino-Gozo Cross Border Area.

The specific objectives of the project are to:

  1. Develop knowledge, tools and germplasm for improving the availability and utilization of indigenous plants (incl. landscape restoration);
  2. Restore the habitat value of priority degraded and undermanaged natural/rural areas and their suitability for biodiversity;
  3. Review current management models and provide guidelines for improving ecological planning of selected protected areas of high environmental value;
  4. Strengthen local administration capacity to integrate biodiversity conservation and landscape connectivity concerns into policy and legal instruments;
  5. Improve local awareness and involvement of local stakeholders in rural landscape conservation.



This project is part-financed by the European Union European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Co-financing rate: 85% Eu Funds; 15% National Funds.
